Dan Falconer was introduced by his Pop’s to low-

brow/hot rod art at around 8 year of age, with Cartoons

Magazine iron ons and die cast hot rods. Other influ-

ences include: 90’s album art, Ralph Snart comics,

80’s Saturday morning cartoons, Heavy Metal Maga-

zine, Madballs, Garbage pail kids and an Endless list

of B-movies. At 14 one of his first Airbrush pieces was

accepter into a local Art show. The piece was removed

immediately due to subject matter (20+ years later and

his father still has the 4x4 foot piece). Dan attended The

Art Institute of Vancouver to pursue a career in 3d ani-

mation. After a short stint in the Industry he realized this

was not the career for him. It wasn’t till 10+ years later that a

life altering injury put him in a hospital bed for eleven months

and his life would change forever. During my hospital stay his

wife brought him an art pad and a pack of Bic ™ pens. Some

of his early 2013 pieces were scribbled from a hospital bed and

later brought into Photoshop™ for line clean up and color.
