One night in Seattle, Washington, I went to the su-

permarket very late... I was planning to move to

Austin, Texas by September, but first, I was going to

spend six-weeks in Sedona, AZ, for health reasons.

I needed to buy a pick up truck to haul my 1970 Har-

ley Davidson, so I was searching EVERYWHERE for

the perfect truck. Just as I was checking out, a young

man came in. I headed out to my Jeep with my gro-

ceries and right there under lamp in the parking lot,

was the truck of my dreams!

I waited outside for the owner. The man came out

and fired up his truck and I about fainted! It roared!!

I was in love. I approached him and asked if I could

buy it from him for my trip. He said he would let me

know in 2 weeks. I was going to Mexico the next day,

loud and so fast! I was, and still am, in love with my

MIRACLE truck!!

My plan was to put my Harley in the back and go on

a road trip from Seattle to Sedona, then to Austin,

TX. Plans don’t always work out the way you picture

them in your head... The truck was in seriously run

down condition and it needed paint as well. Instead

of having the whole truck painted, I wanted Jacques

Moitoret to paint the Virgin of Guadalupe on the hood

for protection on my journey.

In just over a week, my icon was hand painted and

highlighted with real gold leaf. I was elated! I tried

to check the rest of the truck for mechanical safety

issues, but those are so hard to see and I was in a
