Red Lodge, Montana is one of my favorite towns to visit; its
one of those cool little towns in the middle of nowhere nestled
right at the bottom of Beartooth Pass just outside Yellowstone.
Beartooth Highway is one of the most intense mountain roads in
the country, just one mistake and its kiss your ass goodbye! The
steep grades and sharp turns with cliffs that drop straight down
are enough to make anyone’s butt cheeks pucker!
Every year they have a three-day biker rally and a car show
the following weekend so for the past couple years we have
stuck around for both. This year I was lucky enough to get an
invite from one of the local car guys Rick Moore, owner of RR
Frames, to come out and check out his facilities. Now, this
was not your typical company, it was more like a playland for
gearheads!
Cool old cars and trucks were artistically placed all over
the grounds. Everything from pristine classics to rusty rel-
ics were scattered all about. Not to mention the race-ready
Corvette chassis, that is RR Frames main gig; they cer-
tainly build some mean machines! I probably spent over
an hour just wandering around shooting pics of all the cool
rides and automotive memorabilia. The highlight of the day
was when I got to take a ride in one of their Corvette chas-
sis that they built a rat rod around, so it had the look of
an old rat rod with the heart and chassis of a state of the
art hot rod. After a few fast passes and a couple of tire-
smoking donuts, it was back to the shop for a couple cold
ones before I had to get back to town.
