Speaking of town, there is one bar that I have now made a ritual
for whenever I’m in Red Lodge, and that’s the Snow Creek Sa-
loon, which I’m pretty sure is the locals favorite as well. The walls
are covered with old license plates and moose horns with panties
hanging in their antlers; various other animals and silly shit also
line the walls and ceiling. It’s always a nice place to have a stiff
drink and a nice cold beer before I make my way up and down the
street looking for the few old school bikes that may be in town.
This year I also stumbled upon another cool party that was hap-
pening during the bike rally. Boyd’s Garage is a little off the main
drag about a couple blocks up from Main St. I saw their banner
hanging on the corner and decided to take a walk to check it out.
Not long after I arrived I was greeted by the owner who gave me
the grand tour of his shop with all the cool stuff and art that he had
painted on the walls. Turns out that Boyd’s was the local paint &
body shop and it was clear he had an addiction to cool old car shit!
Once a year he opens up his place and has live music with some
food and beer vendors then he takes all the proceeds and donates
it to a local charity. I was invited back for the Friday night blowout,
but unfortunately, I was not able to make it back for the party, but
you can be sure I’ll be there this year!
