our stay was getting the grand tour from the man him-
self. Jay Allen is a gracious and knowledgeable host.
Whenever it is finished and open to the public, his inn
is sure to be a big success. I know my girl and I can’t
wait to stay there again!
I felt like a kid in a candy store running from one side
of the street to the other, there was so much to see
through my lens. I had a hard time concentrating on
each shot, because everywhere I looked there was
photographic gold! I only had an hour or so to get
it all. Of course there is no way to do that, so I just
snapped off as many as I could. I could easily have
spent days here just shooting photos of this amaz-
ing streetscape trapped in time; spiced up with a little
bit of showmanship and the artistic expression of it’s
residents.
But that’s STILL not all... there is a lot more to see in
the neighboring town of Bisbee, a photographic gem
itself. There are many cool shops, and galleries, filled
with art from area artists and photographers some of
whom are world-renowned. There are also numerous
eclectic restaurants, coffee houses and pubs to check
out, where you can relax and chat with some of the
local characters or fellow travelers.
I loved this town so much the whole area just radiates
creativity! I felt drawn there like a moth to a flame. It
seemed like almost everyone I met there had an artis-
tic soul; photographers, painters, artists, carpenters,
metal sculptors, fabricators, musicians, writers and
many other eccentric characters. And that’s just the
people I met there in one day!! I found myself think-
ing I could live and thrive here. Could Bisbee become
the next Renegade Hideout? You never know! To be
continued...
Kick it! Scharf
