“1928 Model A PROJECT” - “Blurred Lines”
When speaking with Scharf during the “1928 Del A”Project:
build issue we started to get to know each other. When
speaking with Scharf over the course of months Scharf used
is renegade senses to ask “is this car what you really want
to design?” He understood my background in technology,
marketing and love of graffiti and steam punk art. Although
Scharf loved the car he knew it was not the car I could build
and that I had to express myself. Scharf went on to explain
the definition of renegade;somebody that knows no bounds
that takes no prisoners and unleashes creativity amongst
steel and fire.
Armed with these words of wisdom I took reflection upon my -
self ,removed all stereotypes from my mind, eliminated any
notion of what a car should look like and developed a de-
sign unique to me and my personality .Now the hard part….
where to start?
My mind racing, feet pacing as I walked holes in the carpet
I reflected upon the days of my playing matchbox cars. It
came to me; matchbox car designers did not allow precon-
ceived notions to dictate their work, they did not look at other
cars for inspiration but instead…they looked inside them-
selves and released their own dreams and desire of what a
car could be….they were renegades.
I
went
on
to create a list
of all the things
that I like, who I
am,what I’ve done
and what I wanted to
be. I then started a tedious
process associating materi-
als and design concepts based on
my past and future to develop to create
“Blurred lines”.
With ideas in hand I went on to add dart
heads back lit the grill with LED, transform the
speedo into GPS , added Bluetooth technology.
hid the speaker system, infused 1928 Belgium-
shotgun barrel door handles, slung a vintage sword
handle abreast the Genie shifter, Dakota digital elec-
tric windows adorn all four windows, custom fabed Lex-
us headlights brighten the beast of a grill and AVS switch
controls to harness the madness. After hours of fabrication
work I couldn’t bring myself to pain the beast; I had to show
the craftsmanship of Sick Customs and Speed Sports AZ by
shooting clear blanket both in and out.
