Renegade Issue 40 - page 6-7

The main reason besides my unexplained mental block on this
issue is that I’ve been buried trying to create as much new art
as I can for my new venture with the Church of Chop. I believe I
can confidently say that I have built one of the coolest vending
booths anyone has ever seen! I have filled it with all the coolest
photos I have done over the years, printed on HD aluminum,
all with hand-made custom wood frames using recovered barn
wood or old crates which also have a remote controlled LED
multi-color strip for backlighting! They look awesome if I do say
so myself! I’ve also been working on custom Steampunk lamps
using Crystal Skull vodka bottles as the light and various other
custom metal sculptures. Plus I’ve got some new t-shirts to
add to the mix since I’ve finally found a quality screen printer.
I have my custom printed tapestries, prayer candles, beach
towels, posters, art prints, not to mention all the magazines in
my booth! I’m going old-school by selling only art and other
products solely created by me! I do have a few other trinkets
that I think are cool like mini skulls hand-carved from water
buffalo bone, a few hobo coins, and piston key chains, etc.
for the impulse buyer! I believe my time has come! When
you look at my tent with all those years of kick-ass images
and art you can’t help but be impressed! I’m basically say-
ing boldly, “Try and ignore me now mother fuckers!” Ha!
I’m going to kill it!
All my life I’ve lived the struggling artist life, working
various graphic design jobs, doing freelance illustrations, and
graphic design for bands, etc. and of course the magazine! Even what I make from
the Outlaw Biker and Tabu Tattoo magazines is still barely enough to scrape by. As a
businessman, I have always been too late, just behind the curve. I missed the big bike
craze when all the tourists were getting into the biker scene because of all the TV
shows; I could have made a fortune off all the wannabe bike builders! Those guys
were spending thousands trying to look like they were something! I was too late
with the magazine as well; the biker scene was on its downslide and magazines,
in general, were becoming a thing of the past.
Now for the first time in my life, I believe I’m in the right place at the right time,
so to speak. As America is circling the drain and everything in your life is now
fake; fake news, fake products, fake boobs, butts, lips, etc., etc., FAKE, FAKE,
FAKE! Every damn thing in this world right now is FAKE; our own media is flat
out lying to us every single day! All of them!

Everything in our lives is now just watered down crap;
e v e n
movies are mostly just remakes of older movies. If you
haven’t noticed, all the major retail outlets in America
have cut back on their variety of products they sell, so now
all you get is the choice between white or grey!
Even if American survives and doesn’t collapse into a libra-
tard, socialist nightmare what will be left?
The young hipsters that are buying up the old Shovelheads
and other old iron are at best living an imitation of what
came before them, trying to live the glory days one last
time. It won’t be long before combustion engines
will become outlawed as they phase in electric cars
and bikes with all that digital auto control crap! Hot
rods and motorcycles will become nothing more than
museum pieces of a day gone by. The American Ren-
egade is fading into the sunset to only to become
fable… Sad but true.
But I digress… Now that everything is fake, fake, fake,
I have what no one else has to offer and that’s “Au-
thenticity” That’s right authenticity! I’m the real deal
with a lifetime of living as a real American Renegade!
Ha! I have the 40 issues of Renegade with the coolest pho-
tos of all types of old bikes and cars, from antiques, chop-
pers, bobbers, rats, and racers to prove it. I have decades
of photos and art and I’m making more art and shooting
more photos every day. I have lived the starving artist life
unwaveringly; I have given up good women, jobs, and
money to keep chasing my dreams. I have never done it
for the money or glory, I did it because that what I love to do,
its who I am. I am “authentic”, genuine, the real deal, and
I’m no longer going to stand on the sidelines and hope
that people recognize my talent; I’m going to knock them
out with it!
It’s time to celebrate the last American
Renegades, all those dirty bikers, grease
monkeys, auto freaks, and artists that do what they
do for the sheer love of the machine! Not because it is
fashionable or because it’s the latest TV craze.
This American Renegade ain’t going down easy and if I do,
I’ll be going out swinging!
